Description
Iso-Gel
Iso-Gel is a complementary food for dogs, cats, puppies and kitten and helps to thicken the stool and supports intestinal function. The high fiber content helps to solidify the feces. Iso-Gel also promotes intestinal function/intestinal peristalsis in cases such as hairballs, a perineal hernia, or after anal gland removal, and can help soften the stool in these cases.
Iso-Gel contains 99.95% psyllium
Iso-Gel consists of 99.95% psyllium. Psyllium, also known as ispaghula, is made from the seed husks of the Plantago Ovata, a plant that primarily grows in India and Iran. It is a natural product, so its appearance and color can vary.
Gel formation in the intestine
Iso-Gel is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, making it effective where needed. As psyllium granules dissolve in water in the body, a gel is formed that binds water in the intestine. The breakdown of Iso-Gel in the colon by intestinal flora increases its water-retaining capacity even further. Iso-Gel increases bulk and affects the consistency of the stool. Iso-Gel regulates intestinal transit time. The increase in intestinal content stimulates the muscle tone and peristalsis of the intestinal wall. Iso-Gel supports intestinal function and promotes regular bowel movements and, depending on the situation, can help make the stool thicker or softer.
Recommended amount and instructions for use
The recommended amount of Iso-Gel is indicative and can be adjusted to your pet’s needs. However, it is advised not to exceed the maximum recommended amount.
Dog: 2 – 5 teaspoons of approx. 3 ml, 1 to 2 times daily mixed with food.
Cat: 2 teaspoons of approx. 3 ml, 1 to 2 times daily mixed with food.
Iso-Gel consists of granules that can easily be mixed with food. Ensure there is always enough fresh drinking water available.
Recommended duration of use
1 – 2 weeks. Use for a maximum of 12 weeks.

1 sachet of 100 grams, packed in a box.

We are extremely satisfied with this product and our dog no less!! ~ Our dog underwent surgery due to a Peri-anal hernia, which is why this remedy was recommended to us so that the dog has less hard stools and therefore does not have to strain as much. The pellets ordered for our cat who was having some trouble with her intestines. Chicken fillet and rice didn’t help. A diarrhoea suppressant didn’t help either. If our Eurasians have diarrhea because they ate something they shouldn’t have (cat poop, twigs, leaves, and junk) and they have loose stool, I give them Iso-gel. It usually works quickly, is easy to dose and administer, and a big advantage is that there is no poop getting stuck in the hair around the backside… that saves a wash! It could perhaps be a bit cheaper…

First of all, we are happy with the price. At our veterinarian, we paid 32.50, after the second time we decided to Google it. The service is also very good. We received a damaged box with 2 packages when we had ordered 3, sent an email and we got an immediate response, and the next day we received the 3rd package. Our dog had diarrhea, everything was examined, but he was otherwise healthy. This is our first dog, so we are figuring things out. He had other complaints like itching, he didn’t smell nice, but we thought it was part of it, but it turned out to be the food. We now have different food and no more chicken. The stool remained loose. 2 small teaspoons per day, the right amount was a bit tricky to find, now the stool is good and easy to pick up. We will occasionally try to do without it, but we make sure we always have iso-gel at home.

Iso gel is geweldig .. vooral als er geen ontsteking is.. maar een verstoorde spijsvertering! Zoals bij mij teefje .. die na de bevalling alleen maar aan de diarree was.. alles naar de pups ging en zij zelf niets of weinig opnam ! Ik heb haar met Isogel bijna 6 weken er doorheen gesleept. Our 9.5-year-old Great Dane has stomach and intestinal problems; for her intestines, she receives isogel and it works very well. But 100 grams per box is scandalously expensive. We know that we have an old dog and that often incurs high costs once she needs medical things. This powder should be sold by the kg.

Na een dramatische dag voor zowel mijn hondje van 16 als mijzelf, kreeg ik deze tip om de maaginhoud gewoon daar te laten waar het hoort. Our dog doesn’t often suffer from diarrhea, but recently he had very watery stools for an entire weekend. Of course, we put him on easily digestible food (rice with boiled chicken fillet), but that alone wasn’t enough to solve the problem. I received a box of ISO-gel from the vet on Monday. It had a very quick effect: no more watery diarrhea. The stool was “wrapped” by the gel in a sort of sausage casing/intestine. A great solution, as it makes cleaning up the stool easy. However, it’s a bit tricky to determine when the stool returns to normal.
But all in all, a great solution. I immediately ordered a box online for a possible next time. It’s better to have one on hand!
