Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora Dog is a probiotic for dogs of all ages. Probiotics for dogs are dietary supplements that contain live, ‘good’ bacteria. When given in adequate amounts, these ‘good’ bacteria help promote gut health in dogs and strengthen the immune system. Just like humans, dogs benefit from the right balance between healthy and harmful bacteria in the gut.

What makes FortiFlora Dog a good probiotic?

Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora Dog contains the lactic acid bacteria Enteroccus faecium (SF 68), in a concentration that has been shown to help support intestinal flora balance and gut health. It has also been proven to help promote a healthy immune system.

The stomach with its acidic gastric juices presents a challenge for bacteria. The microencapsulation process of the bacteria in FortiFlora ensures that a large proportion of the good bacteria reaches the intestines alive.

FortiFlora Dog is safe for dogs of all ages, including young puppies and pregnant and lactating bitches. It can be given over a longer period of time. For cats there is Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora Cat.

Dosage FortiFlora for your dog

A box of Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora Dog contains 30 sachets with 1 gram of probiotic powder, to be sprinkled over the normal food once a day. For optimal results, stick to the dosage as Purina recommends:

In case of loose stools:

In case of loose stools, give 1 sachet of FortiFlora Dog per day over the normal food, until at least 7 days after the start of a normal quality stool.

To improve the immune system:

To improve the functioning of the immune system, give 1 sachet of FortiFlora Dog per day for at least 30 days.

When your dog takes antibiotics:

To keep the intestinal flora in balance during antibiotic use, give 1 sachet every day during the antibiotic treatment until 7 days after the last dose of the antibiotic. For best results, give FortiFlora at a different time than the antibiotic.
