How Advantage Works

Advantage contains the active ingredient imidacloprid, which kills fleas and biting lice by targeting the nervous system of the parasites. Fleas present on the animal are killed within one day, and the treatment protects against further flea infestations for up to 4 weeks. Advantage can be used to treat flea allergy dermatitis in cats as well as flea allergy dermatitis in dogs.

Application and Dosage of Advantage

Apply the contents of the pipette to the intact skin between the shoulder blades of your pet. For dogs weighing more than 25 kg, it is recommended to distribute the solution evenly over three to four spots along the back, from the shoulder blades to the base of the tail. Use a pipette that matches the size of your dog or cat.

Below are the recommended dosages for Advantage Dog:

• Advantage 40 Dog – for dogs under 4 kg
• Advantage 100 Dog – for dogs from 4 to 10 kg
• Advantage 250 Dog – for dogs from 10 to 25 kg
• Advantage 400 Dog – for dogs from 25 to 40 kg
• For dogs heavier than 40 kg, use a combination of two pipettes

Below are the recommended dosages for Advantage Cat:

• Advantage 40 – for cats under 4 kg
• Advantage 80 – for cats over 4 kg
• Advantage can be used on puppies and kittens over 8 weeks old.

Protection Against Ticks, Sand Flies, and Other Parasites
