Previcox contains the active ingredient firocoxib and is suitable for the treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs. Previcox is a so-called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which inhibits inflammation and relieves pain in dogs with osteoarthritis. Previcox is also used for the relief of post-operative pain and inflammation.
The tablet scan be administered with or without food. Dosage according to the following table:

Use during pregnancy, lactation and in puppies
Previcox should not be used in pregnant and lactating dogs, puppies less than 10 weeks old or dogs weighing less than 3 kg.
Contra-indications
Previcox should not be used in dogs with blood clotting disorders or in combination with other Nsaids or corticosteroids.
Adverse reactions
Sometimes adverse reactions as vomiting and diarrhoea can occur. In general these symptoms are transient and reversible when the treatment is stopped. In rare cases neurological symptoms can be seen and in very rare cases kidney and/or liver disorders can occur.
