What are prescription-only veterinary medicines?
Legislation has determined which veterinary medicines can be obtained without a prescription, which veterinary medicines can be obtained from a veterinarian and which veterinary medicines can only be dispensed from a pharmacy with a prescription from a veterinarian. Since we are not a veterinarian, but an online pharmacy, we may dispense some veterinary medicines that you can obtain from your veterinarian without a prescription only with a prescription from a veterinarian.

It depends on the type of prescription and the veterinary medicine whether you can order the veterinary medicine more than once with your prescription. A vet can write a prescription per package, but can also write a repeat prescription, for example. As of January 28, 2022, a prescription will no longer have a validity period in the Netherlands, which means that a veterinarian may write out a prescription for a longer duration of therapy.
We supply prescription medication for a maximum of 3 months, if the prescription permits.
Why can’t I order more packages of some prescription-only veterinary medicines?
