Medroxoral 5 mg tablets can be used to prevent heat in cats. The active substance is Medroxyprogesterone acetate: 5 mg. The dose is 1 tablet per animal per week. The tablets must be administered orally.
Not to be used with:
- hypersensitivity to the active substance or (one of) the excipients
- animals that are not yet sexually mature
- animals that are pregnant
- animals with vaginal outflow due to infections or with signs of cystic endometrial hyperplasia (CEH)
- animals with mammary tumors or diabetes mellitus
- cats that are already in heat
Side effects:
- temporary weight gain
- risk of developing mammary tumors, cystic endometrial hyperplasia (CEH), pyometra or diabetes mellitus
